Charles-André Junod

Born on the 2nd August, 1930 at La Chaux-de-Fonds (canton of Neuchâtel).

Degree in Law (1952) and a degree in Economic Sciences (1953) from the University of Geneva.

Post-graduate studies at the European University Centre of Nancy and the University of Cambridge.

"Diploma in legal comparative studies" from the University of Cambridge in 1957.

Bar exam, Geneva, 1956.

Partner of the firm since 1958.

Doctor of Laws, University of Geneva, 1961.

Professor of Administrative Law at the Law Faculty of the University of Geneva in 1961 and of Economic Law at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences in 1963. Assistant Professor in 1966 and later appointed Full Professor in 1970. President of the Public Law Department of the Faculty of Law at the University of Geneva from 1970 to 1983. Dean of the Faculty of Law from 1983 to 1986. President of the "General Fund of the University of Geneva" from 1977 to 1998. Honorary Professor of the University of Geneva from 1997 onwards.

Areas of expertise : Constitutional and Administrative Law, Banking Law. Numerous publications on these subjects. Member of various federal expert commissions.

Mr Junod has acted as an arbitrator in various national and international arbitration cases (principally on an international level) in the area of Economics.
